In this workshop, we will explore the warrior archetype and participants will be invited to step into the ring of their own lives. Where are we being called to use our voices and our strength to re-establish integrity? From where do we draw our courage? Do we value ourselves enough to be honest? And how can we confront the issues of our time while maintaining an open heart?
As men, we are tasked with being protectors for our families and communities, and if cannot stand up for ourselves, how can we expect to stand up for others? So often, we spend much of our lives hiding in fear, shying away not only from conflict, but from our own true Selves.
This space that we will share at Manifest is an opportunity to tap into greater self-awareness and strength of mind, body, and spirit, so that this energy may flow into the areas of our lives that need it most – the tough conversations, the self-betraying patterns in love, family, and work dynamics, and most importantly, in our relationship with ourselves.
We will meet and honor each other in the ring, we will fight and bleed together, so that at the end of it all, we can look in the mirror and see a man with that much more love, admiration, and respect for himself and his brothers.
OWEN FITZPATRICK
Owen Fitzpatrick is a glassblower, a father, a third-degree black belt, and a space-holder, primarily in the fields of men’s work and psilocybin therapy. Forming his first men’s group in 2020, he has found the medicine of brotherhood to be critical in times of loss, confusion, and isolation. Through the tumultuous years of the pandemic and afterwards, his men’s group in SW Seattle has been going strong as a safe place for men to see and be seen in their truest expression. He has witnessed how building a brotherhood of men who have bared their souls to each other has increased each brother’s self-awareness and compassion, capacity to endure with integrity and care, and appreciation for the joys and beauties of life. He believes that there has never been a time when integrated and courageous men have been needed more by the collective.
“We were never meant to go it alone and it has been one of the greatest surprises and honors of my life to be a leader in the sacred work of the masculine.”
